Dipping My Toe In Journalism Waters- My Idea?

Today, my team and I launched The Postmodern Journal and officially cemented ourselves within the world of journalism and multi-media coverage. Last night I was up until two am editing, and then up again at five-thirty in order to launch our magazine at an hour generally convenient for most of our readers (who unfortunately aren't in my time zone). And as I sit in my local cafe waiting to start my late-night shift, I can't help but feel that I should have had A LOT more coffee today, thus why I'm currently drinking a Venti Blonde Americano instead of my regular Short.

Being the editor of a magazine will be quite time consuming, and though a part of me feels like I've gone totally crazy, I am nonetheless invigorated by the fast-paced world of journalism and feel privileged to contribute toward it.

One of the reasons I decided to re-open my author blog was to have an outlet for my less refined writings- my articles and personal anecdotes that have no place within a professional magazine. As my team and I tackle this new beast of our own creation, it will be freeing to have a place to write about everything and the kitchen sink that absolutely no one would care to read in a magazine based on arts and literature. My personal perspective that isn't transparent enough to be within the pages of my own diary. And how I appreciate you, my reader, for indulging me in these nonsensical words.

Who knows where The Postmodern Journal will be a few months from now- but whether it succeeds or not, I'll still be grateful for its presence in my life, and the outlet I've made for myself on this website to help me deal with the stress that I will inevitably face.
