Note to Self - Try Not to Move Again Next Year

Moving is a chore. It is an absolutely time-consuming chore. As excited as I am to get into my new place, I cannot WAIT for this part of the process to be done so that I can stop stressing about the things I still haven't packed, the cleaning that I have to do, and the appointments that I booked for power and internet that will hopefully be on schedule.
Moving to a new place in the same city is definitely a different experience than moving to an entirely new municipality- you don't really have the same apprehensions about meeting new people and acquainting yourself with the city, because you already live there, and you already have friends. Rather, smaller things prey on your mind - how will my furniture look against this new wall colour? What if the water pressure from my shower head isn't to my liking? Etc, etc.
Don't get me wrong, moving is exciting. I'm looking forward to living in my prettier, more compact, and MUCH more affordable apartment, not to mention getting to live closer to the main part of the city. But it's stressful and all-consuming, and now having endured the moving process twice in the past year, I fail to understand how some people feel the need to move regularly. How can they stand it?
Though, I suppose when you're moving with people, the process could be more fun. But being a singleton, I get to do the packing, cleaning, appointment booking, etc *all* by myself.
That being said, an added development has occurred since my last update - my sister is moving to my city, and will be staying with me until she finds her own place. And while that may mean less space for the two of us for the next few weeks, that also means I won't have to spend hours unloading dishes into cupboards and condensing cardboard boxes by myself. So that right there is an added benefit (not to mention it will be great to have her around more often)!
With less than 8 days left until the big move-out, I am trying my best to take some time for myself. For instance, today I decided to take my work to a local café and treat myself to a jaunt through the library afterward. I have also managed to maintain my exercise regime and diet plan, which has done wonders for my constitution and has reduced my stress levels significantly. But this I know for certain- I don't want to deal with moving out next year, so hopefully, I'll be in this new place for the long haul!
